S.O.S.
To anyone who reads my blog:
My car has just had work done on it and I need to pick it up tomorrow. If you don't mind, I need a ride there. I don't want them to dump it in a lake or fill the trunk with live snakes.

I watched Eraserhead for the second time tonight. The first time I watched it it was really hard to get into and I looked more for the story. By the end I had respect for it because I felt like I was an 'eraserhead'. This time I can see how complicated a film it is. It's really more of a painting than a film, which is somewhat a relief to counter the disturbing imagery. If you want, I could give you my theories on what the different symbols mean. I enjoyed watching this film again and I felt at home in a work of art like when one visits a museum. It becomes very dark at places and difficult to stomach, but there are some comedic moments which help you stay above the surface of despair. This idea may seem absurd to some people, but it is really a love story. It's also just a dream, which the film keeps trying to remind you. It warns you not to take anything you see not too seriously. It's a great film; definitely not something I'd want to watch again for quite a while but worth seeing.

jeremiah blogman vs bloggy mcbloggerstein
*Jeremiah Blogman—apolitical, atheist, uses wit as a weapon, charming and quirky, minds his own business, obeys most rules, is sensitive to trouble and tries to avoid it, loves anything sincere and beautiful, is proud but not boastful, sometimes laughs like a moron when no one is around, is somewhat fond of computers.
Bloggy McBloggerstein—reactionary, zealot, uses reputation as a weapon, pushy and irritating, nosy, obeys every rule, whets his spite on his unchecked neuroses, is full of hate, dislikes anyone he doesn't agree with, cackles like a maniac regardless of the audience, would reluctantly sell his kidney for five minutes of time online to check his blog.

My furnace is being unreliable this winter and this has led me to some new behavior to keep warm, such as turning sweaters into scarves and hoods, and wearing pullovers over shirts. I've become slightly intrigued by the art of combining clothing, which I never hope to be more than an amateur at. Sometimes my attempts at innovation are flawed. Coarseness leads me to sophistication. Of course, if my heat were working, I'd be doing something else.

I really love the movie Idiocracy. Today I was bored so I read the screenplay online. It was mildly entertaining because a lot of important differences exist between the movie and the script. Now that I've seen the movie and read the script I have a deeper understanding of what the writers really envisioned.

Sometimes when I haven't seen my spider move in a long time I like to annoy it a little. I get out the water bottle and mist the terrarium. The spider gets a little upset, but it's cute. I don't aim at the spider but near it so that a puff of moisture touches it. I pretend I'm no more aware of my actions than a cloud would be dropping rain.
